    1.3.a. Each Use of the FX+ Device and Chest Strap
  • The FX+ device is reusable and can be used continuously for 24 hours between recharges. After 24 hours of usage, please charge the FX+ device as per the instructions in Section 1.2.b

  • Before the next use, please ensure to clean the device as per Section 5.2.c.

  • The FX+ Chest Strap is to be used by a single individual and can be used for up to 30 days.


1.3.b. Wearing the Frontier X Plus and preparing the strap
  • Align the electrodes on the Frontier X Plus with the sockets on the strap and firmly press together until both electrodes click into the sockets and are attached to the strap.

  • To ensure good signal quality during your recording, apply some water on your skin and the shiny electrode patches on the undersurface of the strap.

  • Insert the Silicone USB plug/Cover when using the device as per section 5.2.b and only remove for charging

  • Wear the strap with the device’s button facing down and located at the center of your chest, at the lower end of your sternum. Make sure that the shiny electrode patches are in contact with your skin.

  • Secure the buckle by sliding the hook on one end of the strap through the loop at the other end of the strap.

  • Adjust the length of the strap by sliding the buckle until it fits snugly around your chest. The strap should feel tight but not uncomfortable.

  • For female patients,they should be worn underneath the bra for an accurate reading. It may be more comfortable to use with a well-fitting wire-free bra or a sports bra.

  • If your physician has instructed you to use the Frontier X Plus for 24 hours, it’s important to wear it consistently. In cases where the Frontier X Plus is prescribed for extended periods beyond 24 hours, periodic removal will be necessary, such as for charging purposes every 24 hours. Refer to the charging guidelines section 5.2.a for detailed instructions.
1.3.c. Wearing the Frontier X Plus and preparing the strap
  • Live-stream ECG allows the physician to visualize your ECG to ensure the correct placement of the electrodes on your chest.

  • If requested by your Physician, Select the Menu Sidebar and Click on “ECG”.

  • Click the “Share Link” option, and Share the link with your prescribing physician via email or other messaging apps. They may also have direct access to it if you are registered as their patient on the Frontier X Plus Webapp. Once you select the “Start ECG Sharing” option, your ECG will be streamed to the shared URL.

  • Your Physician might advise you to adjust your strap based on the quality of ECG.

  • Click on “Start ECG Streaming”.

  • The ECG Live Streaming will display the ECG Graph along with HR (Heart Rate) updates every 1 second.

  • You can exit ECG streaming by selecting Back

  • Note that you will need to stay within 10 meters of your phone, and have a stable internet connection for transmission of your live ECG to the receiver of the share link. Live ECGs transmitted without an internet connection will be visible on your mobile application but will not be stored for future viewing.


  1.3.d. Recording an activity

  • Recording an activity allows you to use the Frontier X Plus standalone or with the app where you can see your heart rate and rhythm status displayed on the app every 30 seconds.

  • If you want to record WITHOUT your mobile app, follow the steps below to record an activity.

  • Simply double-press the blue button on your Frontier X Plus device to start. You will feel a buzz, then the display on your Frontier X Plus will read “Recording Started.” Your Frontier X Plus will be blinking green every 2 seconds when it is recording.

  • Double press the blue button to stop recording, and you will feel another buzz.

  • The device display will show the words “Recording Ended”. The blinking light will stop.

  • If you want to record WITH your Frontier X Plus app and view your heart rate and rhythm status on your mobile application , follow the steps below to record an activity.

  • Connect your Frontier X Plus to the app on your smartphone or smartwatch. A blue and green alternate blinking light will indicate a successful connection on the device.

  • In the Fourth Frontier app, navigate to the “Activity” page and press the “Start Activity” button. The device will vibrate to confirm that the recording started. The default Activity label will be ‘Active’, but there is a list of three labels (‘Active’, ‘Rest’, and ‘Sleep’,) of activities to choose from before starting an activity. These labels do not change the functionality of the recording or data processing and can be used to indicate your status during the time of the ECG recording as it may be helpful for your physician.

  • ECGs streams will be labeled as “ECG” in your activity history.

  • To stop the recording, go to the “Current Activity” page, and click on the “Stop” button. The device will vibrate to confirm that the recording has stopped, and the LED on top of the Frontier X Plus will stop blinking green.

  • During a recording, if the signal quality is low, a pop up message ‘Poor Signal Quality’ will be displayed on the app screen. Please follow the troubleshooting steps in section 4.7. improve your signal quality.

  • Keep your phone at all times to continue to see updates every 30 seconds. All ECG data will be stored directly on the Frontier X Plus Device regardless of connection to the App and will be transferred at the time of data sync.
