1.2.a. Setting up the Frontier X Plus App on your Phone

  • Unpack the Frontier X Plus box and ensure you have all the contents as shown below. 


The Frontier X Plus product consists of:

  • Check your mobile device meets the required operational requirements.In particular check that your mobile device is an Android version 12 (or later) or IOS 15.5 (or later).

  • Download the Frontier X Plus app from the Google Play Store (for Android users) or App Store (for iOS users). You can also find a QR Code below or on the inside of the Frontier X Plus box, just beside your device. DO NOT download from any other sources.



  • Once the app is installed, open it and create a Fourth Frontier account by providing the necessary details.

  • After submitting your details, you will receive an email asking you to verify your account. The app will not work until you verify your email address.


Password Guidelines:


  • Choose a strong password you don’t use for other applications as general best practice. The password should be of at least 8 alphanumeric characters, but you should also choose capitals and symbols to create a stronger password.

  • Users are advised to change passwords occasionally for their account All Mobile Application updates should only be downloaded from trusted sources like App Store and Play Store for iOS and Android respectively. All OS related mandates and support will be handled via app releases.

  • Post every firmware update, the user should check if the version has updated after the device is reset.

  • Users should check the device Id with the id displayed on the mobile app to verify.

  • While connecting the device to the mobile app the Device Id on the device and the device Id on the mobile app (under settings >> device information) should match

  • If you don’t receive the verification email, please contact us at support@ fourthfrontier.com.

  • Once your account is verified, log in to the Frontier X Plus app using your newly created account.

   1.2.b. Charging your Frontier X Plus
  • Before using the device, make sure it’s charged up to at least 50%.

  • Connect the charging cable provided to the device and power source using the charger/power adaptor provided along with your device as per charging instructions in section 5.2.a. of this knowledge base. Once charged to 100% capacity, disconnect it from the charger.

1.2.c. Expected Battery Life:
  • When recording your ECG. A fully charged FrontierX Plus can last approximately 24 hours before you need to download your data and charge the device.

  • For optimal usage, we recommend charging your Frontier X Plus when the battery level goes below 20%. Avoid allowing the battery to drain entirely as this may lead to longer charging times.

 1.2.d. Switching on your Frontier X Plus
  • When you first unbox the Frontier X Plus, follow these steps to activate the device:

  • Press and hold the button for 6 seconds and release. The red, green, and blue LEDs light up on top of the device, and the logo appears on the screen.

  • After the device has been activated for the first time, you only need to press the button once to start it. The device will go into sleep mode after five minutes of inactivity to save battery.

  • To turn on the device, press the button once. The color display will show the current time, a summary of your last Activity, the device’s Mac ID, and If you don’t receive the verification email, please contact us at support@ fourthfrontier.com.

  • Once your account is verified, log in to the FrontierX Plus app using your newly created account


1.2.e. Pair your Frontier X Plus device with your Frontier X Plus mobile app
  • Press the button on the device to wake it up from sleep mode. When the device is ready to connect, the blue LED will start blinking.

  • Open the Frontier X Plus mobile app and make sure Bluetooth is enabled on your phone.

  • While the device LED is blinking blue, go to the Home Screen of the mobile app and click on “Connect” in the top-right corner. Select your Frontier X Plus device ID to connect to it.

  • Frontier X Plus Device ID can be located under “CONNECT YOUR DEVICE” and “Choose device:”

  • Once the device is connected, the blue blinking light will turn into blue and green alternate blinking

lights.

  • The mobile app will remember the pairing information until you manually click the “Disconnect” button or log out.

  • You can now wear the device and use the app to start recording, or live-stream your ECG (if requested by your physician to confirm electrode placement) on your mobile phone.

  • Firmware is the software that runs on your Frontier X Plus device which may be upgraded to improve your experience with non-medical functions.

  • Your Frontier X Plus device should have at least a 25% charge for initiating an upgrade. If the charge is below 25%, you will be prompted to charge their device.

  • If there is a new version of the Firmware available on our server, you will be prompted to upgrade your Firmware when you connect your device to the app.




1.2.f. Firmware Upgrade
  • Firmware is the software that runs on your Frontier X Plus device which may be upgraded to improve your experience with non-medical functions.

  • Your Frontier X Plus device should have at least a 25% charge for initiating an upgrade. If the charge is below 25%, you will be prompted to charge their device.

  • If there is a new version of the Firmware available on our server, you will be prompted to upgrade your Firmware when you connect your device to the app.

  • In case you would like to immediately record your ECG, you can postpone your firmware upgrade for up to 3 times. It is recommended to upgrade your firmware at the earliest for optimal performance.

  • A progress bar will show the completion of the firmware update. After this, the device will reset, indicated by a succession of red, green, and blue lights, followed by a small vibration.

  • Your Frontier X Plus should reset in 10-30 seconds and reconnect automatically to the Frontier X Plus app.
