5.2 CARING FOR YOUR FRONTIER X PLUS

The Frontier X Plus Device does not require any servicing, testing or calibration. It should be routinely checked for physical damage and routinely cleaned as per 17.3. The device should not be used if it is damaged.
The chest strap is “single use” and is meant to be used by an individual user only. Each strap can be used for a maximum of 30 days.
Charge your Frontier X Plus in a dry and well- ventilated environment.
Before charging, make sure the charging port is dry.
Wipe off any water or sweat stains from the outside of the device and shake the device dry.
Remove the silicone usb plug and ensure that the inside of the micro-USB port is absolutely dry.
Failure to do so, might cause issues such as slow charging or overheating.
The Frontier X Plus should be used with an appropriate charger provided in the box that has a rated output voltage of 5 DC V and a rated output current between 0.5 A to 1A.
Plug one end of the USB charging cable provided into the wall charger and the other end of the cable into the micro-USB port on the side of the Frontier X Plus device.
During charging, a solid blue LED will glow on the side of the device. This turns to Green when fully charged.
Charging the device from 0 to 100% will typically take up to 3 hours, and in certain situations where the battery is fully discharged, expect longer charging times.

Attention: Other chargers and power banks that do not meet corresponding safety standards may cause issues such as slow charging and overheating.
5.2.b. Protecting the Charging Port:With your Frontier X Plus device you are given a silicone plug for the charging port. This plug fits into the charging port so as to protect it and must be used at all times, except when charging the device. Ensuring your charging port is sealed prevents dust, dirt, or sweat from entering the charging port which may affect your charging performance and device health.
5.2.c. Inspection and CleaningI. Inspection and Cleaning prior to Point of UseNo cleaning is required prior to the first point of use
of the FX+. However the inspection steps below can be followed
II. Inspection Procedure FX+ DeviceThe steps below should be followed to inspect the FX+ device before each use:
Using clean, disposable gloves, disconnect the FX+ from the used chest strap and discard the chest strap if damaged (see instructions below for FX+ Chest Strap)
Check the device is free of any visible residues of soil or cleaning agents under normal lighting conditions as the device has no internal surfaces which require inspection. Once the inspection is complete discard the gloves used safely
Check the device electrodes are not exposed or damaged
Check the device case is not cracked or damaged, shows sign of corrosion, discolouration or pitting
Check case seals are not cracked
If the Frontier X Plus device is damaged it should no longer be used. If within its warranty period contact [email protected].
FX+ Chest Strap
The steps given below should be followed to inspect the FX+ chest strap before each use:
Check that the chest strap is free of any visible contaminants or soiling under normal lighting conditions
Check that the chest strap is free of any visible signs of damage
Examples of damage to check for include;
Check that the clips and buckles on the chest strap are not damaged, cracked or corroded
Check that the electrodes on the strap are not damaged
Check that the chest strap is not frayed, deformed, discolored or damaged in any way.
If any damage or soiling is identified on the chest strap, it should be discarded as described in Section 5.3 and the replacement strap should be used.
5.2.d. Cleaning
I. Preparation before Cleaning and DisinfectionIdentify an appropriate location for inspection and cleaning which should be clean, dry, at room temperature and well lit
Ensure you have the relevant equipment prior to initiating inspection and cleaning which should include; a 70% alcohol-based sanitizing wipes such as Sani-Cloth®, a pair of clean disposable gloves, a disposal location for the cleaning agents and used gloves; and a suitable drying station
Put on the disposal gloves and prepare the cleaning agent
II. Manual Cleaning and Disinfection
Remove the Frontier X Plus device from its connected strap
Clean and sanitize the Frontier X Plus device using alcohol-based sanitizing wipes such as Sani- Cloth®.
In the case of sweat residue on the FX+ chest strap, use an alcohol-based sanitizing wipe such as Sani-Cloth® to clean the device after every 24 hours of use.
Ensure that following cleaning, the device and chest strap are free of any visual signs of soiling or residue.
Leave the device and chest strap to dry in a well ventilated, room temperature environment. Please ensure adequate time has been allowed for all moisture to be evaporated from the device and chest strap.
Visually inspect the device and chest strap for any signs of damage due to the cleaning process before next use.
5.2.e. Cautions when Cleaning
Cleaning agents should be stored at the conditions stated on cleaning agent’s labeling prior to and during use.
DO NOT use abrasive materials on your FX+ device or strap.
DO NOT use brushes, water or other washing equipment.
DO NOT use compressed air and external heat sources like hair dryers as they can cause damage.
Direct sunlight, high temperatures, and humid conditions can cause damage.
DO NOT use other chemicals or wipes (that are not Isopropyl Alcohol based)
DO NOT use a washing machine to clean the device.
DO NOT clean while the FX+ device is on charge.
DO NOT allow fluids to enter the enclosure or any connectors.
DO NOT immerse the FX+ device enclosure in fluids.
DO NOT spray fluids directly onto the FX+ device.
