Yes. You can record your data without connecting your Frontier X2 device to the mobile app. To record your activity without the app, double press the button on the device to start and then to stop recording.
That being said, once your activity is complete you can connect the device to the mobile app to sync your data. Once the device is connected to the app, click on the 'sync' button (on the top left of all pages on the app) and allow the sync to complete. Please note that activities of a longer duration could take a little time to sync the data.
